Publisher's description of Nexuiz
From Alientrap:Nexuiz is a 3d deathmatch game project, created online by a team of developers called Alientrap. It is available for download for Windows, Mac, and Linux (all the same archive). The game is meant to bring death match back to the basics, with fast paced action, perfect weapon balancing, and very excessive battles.
Version 2.4 offers a completely new menu design and UI graphics, allowing easier server browsing, player setup, and game creation options such as gametype and mutators. Two additional maps have been added (Strength and BloodPrison CTF). The overall game has also been improved in this version including performance, graphics, AI improvements, and much more.

Though not on par with contemporary games in the genre, Nexuiz makes for a great first person shooter experience. Early Quake and Doom fans will feel right at home with the simplified graphics in this game. But what Nexuiz lacks in graphics it more than makes up for in intense action and twitchy game play. Several weapons are at your disposal with varying power and effects to use against other online players. A lively community of people waiting to blow you away greet you once you take Nexuiz online. If you like FPS games or long for the simpler days of Doom or Quake, you should definitely check out this game.
