Publisher's description of MacMame 0.34b2
From Brad Oliver:MacMame is a port of the PC arcade emulator MAME. It lets you play many of the classic arcade games from the early '80s on your Mac. It accomplishes this through emulation of the original hardware and the use of the actual ROM code from those pioneering games. Setting up the emulator is no day at the beach; you will need to be somewhat patient and technosavvy to get MacMame to work correctly. However, the program includes extensive help and documentation, so with persistence you should be able to set up the emulator and then enjoy hours of fun. In this latest version you can see the frames per second reading in the status bar, Neo*Geo support has been improved, and other small changes have been made. If you encounter difficulties with this download, try pressing the Option key as you click the link.
Note: In order to use this emulator, you'll have to search the Web for the games (called ROMs) that go with it. The games cannot be included with this download for legal reasons. Click the last two links below to get started.
