JAlbum allows you to create nice-looking photo galleries for the Web. You simply select or drag and drop folders containing images or movie files onto JAlbum, and it creates thumbnails and HTML pages to publish your images as a gallery or as a picture slide show. The galleries are based on various templates, and their appearance can be further customized by advanced users. The application's additional features include support for IPTC/EXIF data, style sheets, lossless image manipulation, plugable image filters, a built-in FTP/SFTP client and a built-in web server that allows anyone to share Web albums straight from their own computers.

Version 7.3 enhances publishing functionality.

"A quick utility for organizing pictures"

JAlbum is a long-time favorite free Web album generator. There's no wizard to direct you through the process, but a quick look through the menus will be enough to get you started creating image collections online.

To begin, specify the original image folder, set the album-destination folder, select the images, and generate the album--it's really not more complicated than that. Using the integrated FTP client, you can upload your album to your Web site or you can use the integrated Web server to serve your album from your computer. The JAlbum site also lets you post your projects to their Web hosting service for free, as long as you don't mind registering your name and e-mail address. There are several great-looking templates and skins to choose from, with more skins available online from JAlbum.

Recent versions include a lot of new tools, most notably a photo editor for basic manipulations, such as red-eye removal and cropping. If you've been looking for a new way to post your photos, JAlbum is a great choice with an extremely easy-to-use interface and plenty of options to create the perfect album.

"Fantastically fast, perfectly easy and simply powerful"

Pros: It's so friendly and straightforward. It is something that is created by the users themselves that is why it is so well thought out and conceived. Thanks a million JAlbum!

Cons: I can't think of one bad thing.
(sorry to be a bug, just a wee typo on the french version of the software - when you go to Fichier and select "Ourir un projet..", there is a letter "v" missing.

"Powerful, EASY, customizable, feature loaded, supported, FREE!"

Pros: I have been using this software for almost 3 years now. I used to upload pictures to my website after manually creating html pages and linking them together. JALBUM does all the work for you and now you can use it to upload to your website too!
It has skins to download, or you can create your own to customize the look and feel to match your website. Drag and drop convenience of loading pictures into a project, add comments to the pictures with ease and those comments can convert to your webpage if you want. You can also create stand alone works to burn to CDs to send out to people, or save. The software is more intuitive than the software I've paid $$$ for.
David (the creator) has personally answered the two questions I've had over the last 3 years. When I first installed it a LONG time ago, I sent an email and expected no reply. However, he promptly emailed me with a quick explanation that work beautifully. Then yesterday I asked a question in the wonderfully run forum, expecting some forum stalker to answer my question, instead it was David again. I don't think Bill Gates answers questions anymore.
There are NO drawbacks to this software! Everyone from beginners to the ultimate programmer/designer can find ways to unlock the power of JALBUM. So go ahead, download the frog! Go green!
