From JAlbum AB:

This software allows you to create nice-looking photo galleries for the Web. You simply select or drag and drop folders containing images or movie files onto JAlbum, and it creates thumbnails and HTML pages to publish your images as a gallery or as a picture slide show. The galleries are based on various templates, and their appearance can be further customized by advanced users. The application's additional features include support for IPTC/EXIF data, style sheets, lossless image manipulation, pluggable image filters, and a built-in FTP client.

Version 5.2 contains several enhancements to speed and memory handling plus several other enhancements.

• "A quick utility for organizing pictures"

Many programs can help you create photo albums for the Web, but few balance ease of use and functionality as gracefully as the free JAlbum. In JAlbum, you assemble your project step-by-step, arranging simple tasks in a logical order. You specify the original image folder, set the album-destination folder, select the images, and generate the album. The program offers a considerable variety of skins for your album and lets you preview them prior to selection. You can easily create a customized slide show from your images, too. The impressive online help pages provide tutorials and detailed assistance. Our favorite feature, however, was the built-in FTP client, which lets you directly upload projects to your Web site. Overall, Jalbum's clear interface and abundant features lift it above most of its competitors.

  "The best web gallery creator I have ever found"

  Pros: This program comes with lots of skins, and you can create your own. Uniquely, they look professional, so unlike with many other gallery programs, you end up with web pages which look like they've actually been designed.

  Cons: It's a shame it needs the Sun Java virtual machine, which I've had some trouble with, but apparently the Microsoft VM is too old.

  Version: JAlbum 5.2

  "This is the most sophisticatedly simple freeware I have ever used!"

  Pros: If you need to create an image album of any type, this is the best software to do that. So many great features; nearly every aspect of the image album is customizable. If you can't find what you like, you can program it yourself. If you have no clue how to program or create an image album, this software is precisely what you need.

  Easy to download and install; 100's of customizable album "skins", so your album will have an unique look; watermark your images; you're able to use a variety of images, even PDFs and movies; add voiced narrative to images; create a simple slide show for your images and SO MUCH MORE! Be sure to rate this software after you have tried it and send a donation to the creator of JAlbum. Everybody wins!

  Cons: Only two. The first I think it is more ?user error? than a software problem. Some of the feature tabs are buried under other tabs and I forget where some of the features are. But as I use the program more it, gets easier to remember which tab does what.

  The second, within the application, there are not enough previews or some previews show only one variation. More previews do exists on the JAlbum website and in the website's repository of album skins, but it would be nice if all previews were included in the application.

  "Great Free and Useful Resource"

  Pros: It is great to find today a great program that is free, specially now that Internet is no longer that way, everything is for Sale, too bad!

  "Best I've seen"

  Pros: Easy to use and you can customize it to fit you taste and mood. I searched the internet and tested several products-- this is by far the best!!!!! You can create an album in seconds!!!
