- "A full-blown multimedia powerhouse"
Boasting an attractive interface and an extensive feature set, J. River Media Center leads the pack of media browsers. The installation takes some time, but it's time well spent.
The program's appeal is apparent even during installation, when you can select from six program skins. Moreover, you can choose a small or a large interface, depending on how much space you'd like the program to occupy on your desktop. Upon launch, it automatically ferrets out media files on your PC and lets you preview details such as resolution, production date, and size. Toggling full-screen views or starting a comprehensive slide show is a mere click away. We were impressed with the program's ability to browse all sorts of media, including photos, videos, and audio files, without relying on external players.
Some of the apps many powers include the ability to burn, rip, and play CDs; to generate playlists; to record sound; to create disc labels; and support and synchronization options for external devices like iPods. To boot, the program even comes with a TV tuner. Media junkies with high standards will wonder how they did without J. River Media Center for so long.

Version: J. River Media Center 12.0.526
"The best music organizer period BUT has a keylogger!"
Pros: I have tried them all (media monkey, wmp, itunes, winamp, etc) and nothing comes close to this. The way it rewrites the tags and handles the music are flawless. HOWEVER it does have a keylogger so have a good firewall that can detect it and do not let this program connect to the internet for any reason. I have Agnitum and I refuse to let this program run its keylogger or access the internet and it runs smoothly (Jukebox that is).
Cons: I have tried both the Media Center and the Jukebox and I chose the free one because although good it still isnt worth that much money. And I would have bought it had it not been so buggy. Lots of cash+random crashes and errors+keylogger=not worth the money

"Full-featured media manager does it all"
Pros: This product manages big and small music, graphic and video libraries with ease. Works in a simple or distributed environment. And the developers are always listening to their customers and improving the product. I switched from MusicMatch a year ago and never looked back.
Cons: This product does quite a lot. There's still much to discover. I use it primarily to manage my large MP3 library and digital photos. But there's stilll more here...

"Best media manager I've used!"
Pros: You have complete control over how your music is managed. The program is extremely customizable. I love being able to rename files from properties, and vice versa. It includes a great music converter and editor and has a handy theater view.
Cons: I couldn't get it to work with my Sansa e250, but other media players seem to work. It's a pretty large program, and unfortunately it's not free. It's rather complex, and if you're looking for simplicity you should probably stick to iTunes.
Summary: I've used this program for about 6 years now, and after testing out dozens of other programs, I'm convinced this is the best. No other program I have tried has as many options for customizing the layout, playback features, etc. as much as this prog... read more >>
