- "A full-blown multimedia powerhouse"
Boasting an attractive interface and an extensive feature set, J. River Media Center leads the pack of media browsers. The installation takes some time, but it's time well spent.
The program's appeal is apparent even during installation, when you can select from six program skins. Moreover, you can choose a small or a large interface, depending on how much space you'd like the program to occupy on your desktop. Upon launch, it automatically ferrets out media files on your PC and lets you preview details such as resolution, production date, and size. Toggling full-screen views or starting a comprehensive slide show is a mere click away. We were impressed with the program's ability to browse all sorts of media, including photos, videos, and audio files, without relying on external players.
Some of the apps many powers include the ability to burn, rip, and play CDs; to generate playlists; to record sound; to create disc labels; and support and synchronization options for external devices like iPods. To boot, the program even comes with a TV tuner. Media junkies with high standards will wonder how they did without J. River Media Center for so long.

Version: J. River Media Center 12.0.154
Pros: Plays everything! and alot more!!! It's the bomb of all media player :) and it's worth every penny.
Cons: WARNING: Do not go from playing a video file then go to music files too fast it wll cause media center to crash/freeze badly. I had to reset my computer forced due to the fact that media center froze my computer. Other then that its the best download you will ever find.

Version: J. River Media Center 12.0.154
Pros: This Program is simply Amazing. If it were an only audio organizer, it would've been fantastic! It's better than WMP, Real Player, itunes, Media Monkey! AND it plays video too! Almost every format imaginable! It has numerous features, and it can even organize pictures... This product is simply amazing.
Cons: It crashes sometimes, but it's probably my computer

"Not perfect, but darned close."
Pros: Many features! You can tweak and tailor this thing to your hearts content. Fast and efficient handling large media libraries. Great sound. Stable on Vista. Extremely versatile. I've used it for the 30 day trial and will buy it. I've tried the others but don't think I can give this one up.
Cons: Many features! Some bugs but mostly just nats. Given it's rich feature set that's not surprising. Album look-up when ripping could be improved.

"MusicMatch Replacement Way Better than iTunes!!!"
Pros: This program does everything MusicMatch could do back when MusicMatch was MusicMatch and MusicMatch was good. I needed a program that supported deeper tagging and filtered ala AutoDJ, and this is it! Forget iTunes, I didn't spend time tagging each file so I can sort by whatever and add it piecemean to a playlist! And J. River loads my iPod neat as you please! If you miss MusicMatch, the old MusicMatch, but want all the bells and whistles the new guys have as well, this is the program for you!!! LOVE IT.
Cons: Slight learning curve which is only due to the program's plethora of amazing capabilities.

"Everything AND the kitchen sink."
Pros: I had Media Center since version 8. There is very little room for improvement but I upgrade anyway to help them keep it. I especially like the "secure" mode for ripping, where it tries to reread bad tracks and lets you know if it couldn't do it (no more surprises!). Tagging MP3 is a breeze and you can do all sorts of tricks. I could go on and on about my favorite features but you better try it and get addicted :-)
Cons: Not enough changes to justify an upgrade from version 11 (if you already have it).
