  "Great for editing photos for web or email"

  Pros: Great for sending photos to out-of town relatives, download photos from camera, use batch conversion to shrink files, then the files download easy, even with email virus scanning software.

  Cons: None known

  Extra plugins are available for free download at irfanview.net, but it downloads without file extension, need to add .exe to file name to use. read more

  "Must have for quick edits, resizes, and viewing"

  Pros: Small, fast, and does what it needs to.

  Cons: No fancy creating graphics, which I don't actually see as a con

  Summary: Gotta have. I install this on every computer I work on, and nobody has ever said they couldn't use it, or didn't like it. read more

  "Does Everything!"

  Pros: Opens many photo formats; small program so it loads images fast, easy resizing, extra filters, great quality

  Cons: not that appealing :), cannot use png around shadows

  Summary: I use this program all of the time! It's a great program for creating websites and images to use on them! read more

  "Used to be great, but quality is steadily declining"

  Pros: - Quick, small, efficient
  - Wide support
  - Lots of features and customizability

  Cons: Every version seems to regress a little bit more, which makes me think QA is crap over there. These are showstopper bugs:
  - Next arrow is broken in 4.22
  - Videos dont show picture unless you manually resize

  Just wanted to add: iirc the last 5 star version of Irfanview was 3.99; you can get it from oldversion.com (see the History of Changes page on the Irfanview site). read more
