From FastStone Soft:FastStone Image Viewer is a fast, stable, user-friendly image browser, converter and editor. It has a nice array of features that include image viewing, management, comparison, red-eye removal, emailing, resizing, cropping and color adjustments. Its innovative but intuitive full-screen mode provides quick access to EXIF information, thumbnail browser and major functionalities via hidden toolbars that pop up when your mouse touch the four edges of the screen. Other features include a high quality magnifier and a musical slideshow with 150+ transitional effects, as well as lossless JPEG transitions, drop shadow effects, image annotation, scanner support, histogram and much more. It supports all major graphic formats including BMP, JPEG, JPEG 2000, GIF, PNG, PCX, TIFF, WMF, ICO and TGA.
Version 3.2 added option 'Print current page only' in Print dialog, improved 'Rotate by any Degree', and fixed some bugs.

- "A completely free imaging workhorse"
For a free program, this multipurpose image tool strikes us as a good find. Although the main interface looks too cluttered with buttons at first glance, the three main windows are intuitive enough once get your bearings. FastStone Image Viewer for Windows boasts a nice default design, but you can customize it to your liking with several skins.
Clicking a thumbnail puts a larger view of the shot in the lower-left pane, and you zoom in simply by dragging the mouse around. Though its image-editing tools can't compete with those offered by a full-featured suite, there's still enough here to make a decent amount of tweaks to your shots. You can resize, crop, remove red-eye, and adjust color, brightness, and contrast. You'll also find a few simple effects and filters, including Lens, Waves, and Morphs. Other nifty features include multiple folder slide shows, batch cropping and Windows Vista support.
FastStone Image Viewer for Windows can batch-convert files into a number of popular image formats including GIF, BMP, PSD, and PNG, and the slide-show creator allows you to apply transitions, specify the interval between images, and add your own MP3s as a soundtrack. We can recommend this program to everyone but professional designers.

Version: FastStone Image Viewer 3.2
Pros: Easy to install and uninstall, runs without error and problem. No annoying renaming, automatic editing or disappearing of original images like with Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition or with HP Photosmart Essential. Fastone Image Viewer is a beautiful image editor and I have not experienced crashes or freezes with this program under Windows XP SP2.

Pros: I've been using this program for over an year for organzing/editing images, and each version, it just keep on getting better and better. It has a powerful slideshow feature, batch/convert, crystal-clear zooming, full screen view, red-eye removal, drag/drop support, for the basic viewing needs. But if you want to edit, Faststone has that too, choose from several dozens of frame marks to fit your picture, create fully configurable Contact Sheets, A full color editing sets, several special effects, create basic drawing, it can also resize, rotate, flip, resample, and crop images at ease. There is so much features to it i can't even fully list them here, no doubt that faststone image viewer really is at the top of it's class.

Pros: A fast and efficient Image Viewer and photo/image manipulator and editor. Also includes the free Batch Converter/ Resizer as well as a good Photo Slideshow facility. Very customisable. As Freeware it's better then Irfanview in my opinion.

"Brilliant software. A few minor bugs detract though."
Pros: Easy navigation and use. Up and running before Corel has started to stretch. Quick and easy interface with impressive range of features. I was happy to pay for this software for my company
Cons: A few bugs let it down. Tends to hang at times (it prefers to be loaded before the scanner and camera wizard in xp) I should prefer the select feature to be available by default but this is no biggie

"Excellent everyday image organiser and editor"
Pros: Just the best everyday image organiser and editor I've tried, better than either ACDSee or IrfanView, and much better than Picasa. Editing functions are fairly basic, but all work extremely well and are very easy to use. Nice interface, clear and functional, and even skinnable...
Cons: Thumbnail database can be slow to load on start-up with a large photo collection.
