Version: QuickBooks Simple Start Free Edition 2009
Pros: Ease of use. Does exactly what is needed for me and my business.
Cons: When a backup file is made, the program creates so many files.
Summary: If you are a home internet base business that only receives checks or wire transfers for payment, then this free software is for you. It also gives the option of accepting credit cards but I am not familiar with this function. read more

"Software with too many connections to other programs"
Pros: It is obviously comprehensive for those people who want everything taken care of.
Cons: This product has so many add-on features that it slows the average user's computer to an unacceptable speed. Also I resent being told I need Google desktop. I was unhappy that the Simple Start took 2 hours to download.
Summary: Basically, I am underwhelmed. If this is QuickBooks Simple Start, then I hate to think what the Complicated Start might involve. I was so happy using Quicken for over 10 years and I think a 'simple' accounting program ought to be offered without al... read more

"Download/Install is very very slow...."
Pros: Can't achieve download/install. No comments of Pros...
Cons: I cant' download the software due to the speed is very very slow...
Summary: This Quickbooks Simple Start Free Edition 2009 took me very long time just achieved a 1% install....even though I have DSL internet access. Finally, I gave up. read more

Version: QuickBooks Simple Start Free Edition 2009
Pros: It does what quickbooks does, and it's free. It's very useful to keep track of your books, much better than say... Excel or a pen! They did a pretty good job of keeping things easy to use.
Cons: I had to register online, it is very simplified (I have used Quickbooks Pro).
Summary: It does help to have taken an accounting class in college, otherwise it is a little hard to learn to use I think. read more

Pros: I have had no problems with the software at all. There is a learning curve but once done its great.
